FOR INFO: Warning over ‘face masks for babies’
We have recently had it brought to our attention by colleagues working in Lancashire about new ‘cute’ face masks being promoted for babies. Information reported here:

It appears that some face coverings are being described as ‘baby masks’ or ‘cute masks’.
The Government advises that face coverings should not be used by children under the age of 3. Children under 11 are exempt from wearing face coverings under the new regulations that came in recently for wearing face coverings on public transport, hospitals and in shops.
The Lullaby Trust, which raises awareness of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and provides expert advice on safer sleep for babies, has also urged parents to avoid using face masks on babies as there is a potential risk of suffocation and other hazards with doing this.
