Number of Appointments
There has been a lot of negativity in the media recently regarding GPs being “closed” or not seeing patients Face to Face. As a result of this we have seen in increase in patient complaints.
We would like to remind patients that although for patients and staff safety we may be doing things differently we have never been closed. In fact, we have consulted with a much higher number of patients than we did pre-covid.
Data taken from NHS Digital GP Appointments Dashboard shows that in the last year (5th October 2020 – 3rd October 2021) we had a total of 49,013 appointments, 24,061 (49.1%) of which were face to face.
And in the last 8 weeks (9th August 2021- 3rd October 2021) we had 7,129 appointments, 48.6% face to face.
Demand is currently extremely high and we appreciate it can sometimes be frustrating if we can’t always offer an appointment when required but please be assured our staff are working harder than ever to try and meet our patients needs.
