Dear Patients, we have managed to maintain our normal service up to now. However as the number of Corona virus (Covid-19) cases are increasing we now feel it prudent to take more decisive action. From today all GP appointments will initially be telephone only the GP will then decide what the best course of action is and may ask you to attend the surgery if required. Although things may change at any time, we are not planning to make changes to Nurse / HCA appointments although we will be texting patients to say don’t come in if you have a cough, fever or shortness of breath – regardless of your travel history. Please avoid coming to the surgery for booking appointments or anything that can be dealt with on the telephone. We are very confident that we will be able to provide our patients with appropriate care and ask that patients bear with us at this difficult time.
How can you help: – If you are able to please visit https://111.nhs.uk/ or use the NHS App https://www.nhs.uk/using-the-nhs/nhs-services/the-nhs-app/ symptom checker before contacting the surgery as this may give you the advice / support you require. If you are given a telephone call back appointment, please be ready to answer your telephone as we will have a lot of patients to call. We are looking at a possible video calling solution which will be initiated by a text from the surgery so please watch out for this if you are waiting for a call back.
Current advice (13/03/2020) is that if you have had a cough OR a fever OR shortness of breath you should NOT go to your surgery or medical facility but go to https://111.nhs.uk/service/COVID-19/ this website has simple questions and will advise the best action to take.
