Physician Assistants

Miss Ria Agarwal (f)

Physician Associate

Physician Associates support doctors in the diagnosis and management of patients.  They are trained to perform a number of roles including: taking medical histories, performing examinations, analysing test results, and diagnosing illnesses under the direct supervision of a doctor.  


Mr Dhaval Shah (m)

Dhaval is our Practice Pharmacist at Sothall Medical Centre. His role involves dealing with medication queries, managing prescribing, reviewing and re-authorising medicines, reviewing letters and hospital discharge forms, address patient understanding about medicines and managing long-term conditions.  Dhaval works alongside the GPs, Nurses, and other practice staff to promote appropriate prescribing of medications as part of a multi-disciplinary team. 

Community Nurses

The District Nursing Team are based at Owlthorpe Surgery and can be contacted at Single Point of Access on 0114 3051460. They assess health needs and deliver care in the home for those with health problems that prevent them attending the surgery.

Health Visitors

The practice health visitors are based at Mosborough Health Centre, who can be contacted on 0114 251 2636 Monday to Friday. They give advice on many aspects of health for expectant mothers, babies and young children. They run a mother and baby group for first time mothers with babies under 9 months old, ask for details. They attend baby clinic and do development checks for the under 5’s.

Attached Staff

Attached to the practice we have midwives, physiotherapists, a practice counsellor and mental health nurses. The doctor or reception staff arrange contact.
